2023 was one of, if not, the best years for games releases. There was a strong influx of horror games, indies got their artistic shine (yes, even Baldur’s Gate 3 is an indie), and what a year of role-playing and action as a whole. I could make up a whole top 20 list of games I didn’t get a chance to play in 2023, that’s how good it was. I missed some evident titles such as Jedi: Survivor, Super Mario Wonder, Dead Space Remake, Pikmin 4, Sea of Stars, Octopath Traveler 2, Hi-Fi Rush, Dredge, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, and Cocoon. I want to go back and log all these games as they seem exciting, though as a big fan of Skyrim, I am not enthusiastic to check out a certain game about stars.
I thought I’d make a list of my favorite games that I played in 2023 as a celebration of such a beautiful yet thrilling experience. Just to be clear, while this list mostly contains my top games from 2023, it does also have other games I played that released before too.

Poggers Memes Game of the Year
Yes, to no one’s surprise, even Poggers Memes’ Game of the Year goes to Baldur’s Gate 3. It is the top game of 2023 as evident by all the claim it’s garnered publicly and critically. It’s been a gem in the making, for all the risks Larian has been making since 1996, and it’s finally paid off.
