I thought I’d take some time to talk about how just starved for content the Rocksteady Batman Arkham games subreddit is. I’m a fan, if you’re reading this, you’re likely a fan, and it’s Batman!
The Story Behind Batman Arkham Reddit
Now, it’s truly unfortunate we won’t be getting another Rocksteady Batman Akham game for some time as Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League releases this February. Well, that game, it’s probably going to be a disaster, but I want to hope that it has some redeeming qualities because to not have had Arkham content since 2015’s mixed Arkham Knight release to this Suicide Squad announcement has left the subreddit to lose it.
Sure, there are a lot of Aslume memes, and new versions of characters, particularly Batman, but the one post that really made me want to make a post was on The Last of Us 2’s Ellie’s concluding actions. The sub is so deprived of anything interesting that they’ve created an entire meta narrative around different topics, especially those focused on the Batman mythos.
Of course, there’s nothing deep about it, but it’s just one of those odd yet pleasing discoveries which could help bring some joy, like it does to me. There’s this continuous memey nature around the community which has its own running inside-joke, open-secret flow to it. This keeps the sub creative and fresh to follow, so I thought it made some sense to give them a shout out. It’s really just a subreddit that doesn’t take itself too seriously yet still puts enough effort and content to send the message that we need more content, good content.
But in all seriousness, to those negative, sleeping Rocksteady and WB bros reading this, we really need you guys to save gaming before the Spiderman PS4 subreddit also loses all hope. Another Batman Arkham, or even Flash, Green Arrow, or Superman games could be quite interesting.
